2023 Kia Soul Arrives with More Style and Standard Tech

The Soul has always set itself apart with its distinctive yet functional design. Since its debut in 2009, the boxy hatchback has redefined what drivers expect from the small-car segment. Now in its third generation, the Soul continues to evolve and appeal to drivers with its edgy silhouette, practicality, and industry-leading warranty

The latest edition, the 2023 Kia Soul, builds on this legacy with a refreshed design and new standard features. The 2023 Kia Soul will arrive this summer, with pricing details to be announced closer to the vehicle’s on-sale date.

2023 Kia Soul Updates: What’s New?

Last year, Kia unveiled its all-new brand purpose. With this came changes like a new logo, slogan,  and refresh of many of their vehicles. The latest to be transformed is the 2023 Soul. The updated hatchback arrives in style with all-new design elements and more standard technology.

Most notably, the 2023 Kia Soul features an all-new front fascia and is offered in new lively exterior colors. Similarly, a number of previously optional features are now standard across all Soul trims, highlighting Kia’s commitment to safety and security.

Simplifying the lineup for 2023, the Soul is offered in LX, S, EX, GT-Line, GT-Line Tech trim lines, each featuring a long list of standard and available equipment. The X-Line and Turbo have been discontinued, although many of the features are found in the new variants.

Bold Looks, Efficient Powertrain

New for the 2023 Soul is the redesigned front fascia. The new grill comes complete with updated fog lights and available LED heightists. In addition to this, the 2023 Soul features thoughtful updates that improve upon driver feedback from previous model years. Changes like new Daytime Running Lamps and turn signals represent Kia’s attentiveness to drivers’ needs.  The last of the exterior enhancements include new available 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels and two-tone paint schemes. For the first time, the 2023 Soul will be offered in Clear White with Fusion Black roof and Surf Blue with a Fusion Black roof.

Under the hood, the 2023 Kia Soul is powered by a single powertrain. The efficient 2.0-liter Kia’s Intelligent Variable Transmission is standard across all grades.

2023 Kia Soul Interior

Versatile Interior

Inside, the Soul continues with features that give drivers safety, security, and convenience. Despite being in the small-car segment, the 2023 Soul offers more room than a 2021 Toyota RAV4. With seating for five and 60/40 split-fold seating, the Soul has plenty of room for the whole family. Road trips and urban commutes are comfortable in the Kia Soul with up to 62 cu. ft of cargo space and 101 cu. ft of passenger room.

Other available interior features include:

  • Heated front seats and steering wheel
  • Power sunroof
  • Harman Kardon Premium audio system
  • 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat

Safety and Tech

Along with being built for comfort, the 2023 Kia Soul is also tech-focused. Standard on all but the LX trim, a 10.25-inch touchscreen helps drivers navigate the roads with ease. This system can easily connect with Apple Carplay or Android Auto, giving drivers access to Bluetooth features.

New for the 2023 Soul is the addition of standard safety features, which were previously optional. All of the following features are now standard across all trims:

  • Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist-Pedestrian
  • Lane Keeping Assist + Lane Following Assist
  • Driver Attention Warning
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • High Beam Assist
  • Rear Occupant Alert

For those looking for more, the GT-Line Technology Packages ups the ante with a wide range of convenience and tech features. Some of these include a Harman Kardon premium audio system, external amplifier, subwoofer, and door-mounted tweeters. With this comes a multi-colored LED speaker which syncs with your music for an immersive cabin listening experience. The GT-Line Technology Package also includes Highway Drive-Assist, Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control, and more. Learn more about Kia’s Drive Wise Advanced Driving Assist here.
